I am a professional geologist who designs one of a kind

handcrafted jewelry. I love creating things with my hands,
            a
nd I love the many different and varied stones that are

available to utilize in jewelry. I only use solid sterling

silver or gold vermeil, and I hand pick all my semi-precious

stones in small batches to create unique wearable art. To

me, jewelry is a personal expression of one's own style or

mood, and the jewelry one wears should speak to them in
some manner. Because I believe in individuality, I never reproduce anything I
make.

I chose my stones with care. I don't just look for the perfect stones, because
with semi-precious items, sometimes the flawed items have more character
than a perfect specimen. Not only should jewelry have style, it should have
character. I am also careful to chose stones that I know are real. I do not
generally purchase or use man made materials. As a geologist I find it
irritating and misleading when jewelers sell things like cherry or aqua quartz
as real quartz, or try to pass off dyed howlite as turquoise. I have an
appreciation not only of the beauty of the stones, but also of their origins.

I craft my items with care and attention to detail. Hand wrapping of wire is
always precise, tight, and any 'tags' that could catch hair or clothing is
removed.

I have done art shows and craft shows in Texas, (where I started),
Minnesota, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Colorado. I enjoy the face to face of
meeting clients, and explaining to them what makes a particular piece special,
or share with them some of the information about the materials that went
into a jewelry item.
